about

In 1985, I decided that I wanted to learn to use MIDI for composing music. I liked how it allowed me to compose, edit and arrange all aspects of a piece of music.

Due to my training in classical music as a bass trombone player, I particularly liked J S Bach, Mozart, Pachelbel and other classical masters. To teach myself how to create music with MIDI, I used a number of my favorite classical music pieces.

These are 9 of those pieces that I liked how they turned out. I had fun with the instrumentation on them, so I added the subtitles to each piece to better describe my the sounds I used.

I used 3 Casio CZ-101's, a Casio CZ-5000 and a Korg X5DR Synthesizer Module processed through a Alesis Microverb III Digital Reverb. See details of each piece for more info.

Enjoy, they are free for listening or download.

J D Emmanuel Shenandoah, Texas

I am J D Emmanuel. My music is designed to enhance deep meditative, or altered states, to allow the listener to personally connect to the Creator of All that exists in the Universe, ie, our Source of Being. My music style is to first create a foundation using cyclic, poly rhythmic music, then build several layers of improvised leads and rhythms that allows you to transcend time and space. ... more
